Product Care & Safety — Lighting
Thank you for choosing Aptelior. Our lighting pieces are designed to bring both beauty and functionality into your home. Please follow the guidance below to ensure safe operation and long-lasting performance. Always read the label or leaflet supplied with your product before use.
General Safety — All Lights
- Indoor use: Unless clearly marked with an outdoor or IP rating (e.g. IP44 or higher), lights are intended for indoor use only.
- Keep clear: Place lamps on stable, level surfaces. Keep away from curtains, bedding, or flammable materials. Do not cover the lamp or ventilation slots.
- Maximum wattage: Never exceed the bulb wattage stated on the product label or user guide.
- Children & pets: Keep cables and small parts out of reach. Batteries and accessories may present a choking hazard. This is not a toy.
- Stop using immediately if the lamp, plug, cable, or housing shows damage, overheating, or any unusual smell. Disconnect and contact support.
- Cleaning: Switch off and unplug first. Dust with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Do not spray cleaners directly onto electrical parts.
Plug-in Lamps (UK & EU mains)
- Use only with the correct mains supply for your region: UK 230–240V AC Type G plug or EU 220–240V AC Type C/F plug.
- Ensure the plug fits firmly. Do not route cables under rugs, furniture or doors where they could be damaged.
- If the lamp uses replaceable bulbs (E27 / E14): switch off, unplug, and allow to cool before changing the bulb.
- Integrated LED lamps are not user-serviceable. If the LED fails, contact support@aptelior.com.
USB-Powered Lights
- Use only a 5V USB power source or certified CE/UKCA-marked adapter (typically 1–2A). Fast-charge bricks (9V/12V) are not suitable unless stated.
- Keep USB ports dry and free from dust. Do not operate with wet hands.
Battery Lights (AA / AAA / Coin Cells)
- Insert batteries respecting polarity (+ / –). Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types.
- Coin cells (CR2032 etc.): keep away from children — swallowing can be dangerous. If ingested, seek medical help immediately.
- Rechargeable batteries: charge only with the correct charger. Never recharge non-rechargeable cells.
- Remove batteries during long storage. Recycle responsibly (see WEEE below).
Acrylic / 3D LED Night Lights
- Some acrylic panels are shipped with a thin protective film — remove before first use.
- Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid alcohol or ammonia-based cleaners to prevent haze or cracking.
- Handle by the edges to avoid fingerprints or scratches.
Crystal Spheres & Sun-Catchers
- Place on the supplied base, away from edges. Glass and crystal are heavy and fragile — handle carefully.
- Fire safety: never leave crystal pieces in direct sunlight. Concentrated light can cause heat marks or fire risk.
- Dust gently with a microfibre cloth. For fingerprints, use a slightly damp cloth and dry immediately.
Solar Lights
- Charge under direct sunlight for 6–8 hours before first use. Performance may vary with season and daylight.
- Install where the panel receives maximum sunlight and keep it clean from dust or pollen.
- Most solar lights are weather-resistant, not submersible. Check the product’s IP rating before use outdoors.
Materials & Surface Care
- Wooden bases: wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid moisture and direct sunlight to prevent warping or fading.
- Metal parts: clean with a dry cloth. If necessary, use a slightly damp cloth then dry thoroughly to avoid corrosion.
- Fabric shades: use a lint roller or vacuum on low with a brush attachment. Spot-clean gently without soaking.
- Glass: spray cleaner onto the cloth, not directly onto the lamp. Wipe carefully to maintain clarity and shine.
Installation & Use
- Follow the assembly instructions supplied with each product. If hard-wiring is required, use a qualified electrician familiar with your country’s regulations.
- Do not modify plugs, cables, or housings. Unauthorised modifications void the warranty and may create a safety hazard.
Disposal & Recycling (WEEE)
Electrical products and batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. Recycle through your local collection facilities in accordance with the WEEE and battery recycling schemes. Remove batteries before recycling whenever possible.
